Seatbelt Safety

Still having trouble buckling down on buckling up? Here’s new proof that seatbelts equal safety. The national safety council reports that wearing a seat belt can reduce the risk of crash injuries by fifty percent. And for kids in the back seat, the risk is reduced by over seventy percent.

Seat belts are the single most effective traffic safety device for preventing death and injury. People not wearing one are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash.

This should be jarring news for adults in general and parents in particular. Wear your safety belts, and insist that your children buckle up. Hug your child with their safety harness. A simple click can save your and your child’s life.
