A mom asked me: how can I keep all of us from getting sick once one of us is?
If you have kids, that’s the eternal question. The spread of colds is not hard to prevent, as there is plenty you can do to suppress those sniffles.
The biggest step is the easiest, have everyone wash their hands often. Don’t cough or sneeze into your hand. Use your arm or a tissue to cover your mouth.
You can also disinfect common surfaces like door nobs, light switches, and toys. If possible minimize face-to-face contact with the sick person. Finally, keep your family eating well and getting enough sleep. Healthy bodies equal a healthier immune system.
I’m a big fan of giving to one another, but this is one area where being selfish is a good thing.
