Signs everywhere are advertising flu shots. But many people wonder if they’re necessary. Well for me, all signs point to getting one.
The influenza virus is spreading around the country. Although the peak of the season is in January and February, it can be unpredictable.
This year, some forms of the vaccine protect against four strains of the flu instead of the standard three strains. There is now an egg free vaccine, for those with allergies. And, if you don’t like shots, there’s even a nasal spray version.
Remember, there’s no way to get the virus from the vaccine, so you don’t have to flee a flu shot—which is recommended this year for everyone six months of age and older. The next time you see one of those signs for the flu vaccine, I recommend you get one. The benefit to your health is worth a shot.
