Good News: Grand Prize Worship Volunteer

We asked you to nominate an outstanding volunteer on your worship team.  We were flooded with incredible stories that we’ll be sharing this week!

Joel plays drums in our praise band. He has such a heart and passion for the congregation to not only experience God each Sunday but that their worship will not only draw them closer to God but that He will be the audience of our worship and He will be the focus of our worship. Too many times we can slide into a “we are the audience” in enjoying parts of the worship service. Joel shares from his heart in between songs to help keep our focus on God and to give Him all the glory.

Congratulations to Joel, who won a trip for 2 to the Engage Worship Conference including hotel and gas.  Thanks to HVAC Solutions for sponsoring this giveaway.

Good News: Honoring Worship Volunteers

We asked you to nominate an outstanding volunteer on your worship team.  We were flooded with incredible stories that we’ll be sharing this week!

Dave Priest is the worship pastor at Living Hope Church. For several years he worked full time outside of the church yet remained faithful to his calling as our worship pastor. He recently became the full time worship pastor and he ushers us into a great time of worship and into the presence of the Lord week in and week out. I would like to nominate Dave to give him a chance to go to this conference because I am confident that he would take all of the knowledge that he received there and bring it back to Living Hope church and pour it into the worship team so that we can continue to be a blessing to our community and continue to reach people during our worship time!

Good News: Honoring An Amazing Worship Volunteer

We asked you to nominate an outstanding volunteer on your worship team.  We were flooded with incredible stories that we’ll be sharing this week!

Patty is tireless. She retired from her 8-5 job due to disability and has since thrown herself only more deeply into worship volunteerism.  She runs our multimedia system almost every Sunday, sacrificing her time to worship with her family, and when she’s not in the booth, she’s on stage, playing the violin. This means she is also at every rehearsal, every special event, and often spends every day at the church building, although she still manages to volunteer in other areas to spend time with her daughter, who is a senior in high school this year. (Her son recently completed Army boot camp.) Patty also runs and coordinates our meal ministry outreach, serving more than 100 meals per week to the hungry in our community, and has started our pantry program and organizes our community garden and canning program. She doesn’t have a lot; her house is in need of dire repair, she shares one ragged car with her husband (who works full-time) and daughter, and son when he is home, and she couldn’t even find the money to get to her son’s Army graduation, which I know broke her heart. As much as she does for us, and as little as she is able to do for herself, she still exudes joy. You can see the exhaustion in her, but she is so passionate about giving all she has to serve…it’s just that like most of us, she sometimes gives too much and still thinks it isn’t enough. I would love to see Patty have the chance to refresh – to worship and not have to be “on duty” but just to be in the presence of others who bring worship and be restored.

Good News: Honoring An Outstanding Worship Volunteer

We asked you to nominate an outstanding volunteer on your worship team.  We were flooded with incredible stories that we’ll be sharing this week!

Sarah is a volunteer who plans and leads worship every Sunday morning.  Week after week she spends 10+ hours planning the worship in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and then leads the entire congregation before God in worship, all of this without being on payroll. Sunday mornings are filled with the praise of God from a variety of songs ranging from contemporary to traditional and it is obvious that she continually seeks the Holy Spirit concerning the song selection. I believe that she would be ecstatic to go to the Engage Worship Conference and would enthusiastically soak up what God would show her through that experience.

Be listening on Friday, when one worship volunteer will win a trip for 2 to the Engage Worship Conference including hotel and gas.  Thanks to HVAC Solutions for sponsoring this giveaway.
