Blind Spots

We had a pretty close call this week in our car, didn’t we?

We’ve had more than one and it’s because our car just has a different level of vision.

It’s a new car and it’s got a blind spot. Looking through that window at the mirror isn’t the same as our old car.

No. I’ll tell you what, that blind spot has got us thinking about how relationally sometimes we are just so oblivious—going about our business, happy, and feeling pretty faultless—until we get some feedback from our spouse.

Until our spouse honks the horn and says, “Hey, take a look at yourself,” right?

Exactly.

But that’s sometimes a pretty good lesson. In fact it can help us avoid some of those relational accidents when we’re receptive to a little feedback on our own blind spots.
