A Parent’s Worst Nightmare Has Become A Miraculous Testimony

A parent’s worst nightmare has become a miraculous testimony.

You may remember this story from the news.  Back in July, 6-year-old Nathan Woessner was buried alive for more than three hours under sand at Indiana Dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Today, he’s back with his family after making a complete recovery.  Two weeks ago, he joined his mom and dad for his first public appearance in church.

His mother ABC News in Chicago, “God was with Nathan and those working to save him.  They’ll never know how much we appreciate what they did for us. Thank you.”

Authorities say Nathan survived because of an air pocket in the sand. Nathan does not remember anything about the ordeal.

Speaking of the miraculous, The New York best seller “Heaven is For Real” will be on the big screen around Easter of next year.  As you may know, the book is based on the true story of Colton Burpo, a four-year old who had a near death experience.

As he was undergoing emergency surgery, Colton says he went to heaven.  He said, “I was upset because I didn’t know what was happening to me, but God used people or things that I liked to calm me down.”

After he recovered, Colton shared with his parents details about their lives that were impossible for him to know, including a prayer from his father Todd, and details of his miscarried sister who no one had told him about.

The book was released in November of 2010.  By January 2011 there were 200,000 copies in print and it hit # 1 on the New York Times best seller list.

The new movie will star actor Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo, and if it stays true to the book, it will provide a fantastic opportunity to reach non-Christian friends and relatives.
